HARRISBURG, PA — As the coronavirus crisis continues to wreak havoc on normal life in Pennsylvania, officials have taken drastic measures in an attempt to curb the spread of the virus.

One of those measures includes the closure of all "non-life-sustaining" businesses statewide.

Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Wolf on Thursday issued an order Thursday evening saying only life-sustaining businesses can operate in their physical locations after 8 p.m. that day.

The order will be enforced by several state agencies and violators could face fines or even imprisonment. The order comes as Pennsylvania on Friday reported 268 cases of the disease, also known as COVID-19. One person in Pennsylvania has died.

Enforcement actions against businesses that do not close physical locations will begin at 12:01 a.m. Saturday and will be carried out by the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board, the Department of Health, the Department of Agriculture, Pennsylvania State Police, and local agencies.
