Five more Pennsylvanians have tested positive for the new coronavirus, officials said Thursday.

HARRISBURG, PA — Five more Pennsylvanians have tested positive for the new coronavirus, also known as COVID-19. The positive cases include four from Montgomery County and one person from Northampton County.
Pennsylvania now has 21 cases; 19 of the cases are presumptive positive and two cases have been confirmed by the CDC. A presumptive positive means a person has tested locally positive for the virus and the state is awaiting confirmation from the CDC.

“While we anticipate that there will be more Pennsylvanians with COVID-19 in the coming days and weeks, it is important for residents to know the commonwealth is prepared and to be prepared themselves,” Health Secretary Rachel Levine said. “Right now, you have a higher chance of testing positive for COVID-19 if you have traveled to a country or state with known community outbreaks or have come in contact with someone who has the virus."
The number of cases of the illness continue to rise nationwide, and additional school closures are being announced. The World Health Organization on Wednesday officially declared the outbreak a pandemic.
The National Basketball Association announced Wednesday night it is suspending the season indefinitely after a player tested positive for the virus.
