Police Arrest Woman For Retail Theft, Drivers Face DUI Charges In Newtown Twp.
Township police also investigated several cases of fraud and an incident of identify theft
NEWTOWN TOWNSHIP, PA — The Newtown Township Police Department reported the following incidents and arrests between Nov. 14 and 20:
November 14
- A Newtown Township resident contacted police shortly before 3 p.m. to report an incident of identity theft. The incident was documented, and the resident was advised to contact his banks, credit card companies, and credit bureaus to monitor his accounts.
November 15

- At 12:15 a.m., police conducted a traffic stop on the driver of a Mercury sedan for committing a vehicle code violation in the area of the Newtown Bypass and Richboro Road. Upon speaking with the driver, police detected the odor of alcohol. Police said the driver was unable to perform field sobriety tests satisfactorily and was placed under arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence. The driver refused to submit blood for chemical testing. Charges are pending.
November 16
- At 2:05 a.m., police conducted a traffic stop on the driver of a Jeep SUV for committing a vehicle code violation in the area of Sycamore Street and Barclay Court. Upon speaking with the driver, police detected the odor of alcohol. The driver was unable to satisfactorily perform field sobriety tests and was placed under arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence. Charges are pending blood evidence results.
November 17

- At 9:45 p.m., police responded to the area of Buck Road and the Newtown Bypass for a three-vehicle traffic accident. Upon speaking with one of the drivers, police detected signs of impairment. The driver was unable to satisfactorily perform field sobriety tests and was placed under arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence. Charges are pending blood evidence results.
November 18
- As a result of an investigation into a retail theft that occurred at Ulta Beauty on October 28, a woman was charged with retail theft and receiving stolen property.
November 19
- A Newtown Township resident contacted police at 9 p.m. to report an incident of fraud. The incident was documented, and the resident was advised to contact his banks, credit card companies, and credit bureaus to monitor his accounts.
November 20
- A Newtown Township resident contacted police around 4:15 p.m. to report an incident of fraud. The incident was documented, and the resident was advised to contact her banks, credit card companies, and credit bureaus to monitor her accounts.
