Pro-Impeachment Protesters Headed To Rep. Fitzpatrick's Office

BUCKS COUNTY, PA — With the House expected to vote on impeachment Wednesday, a number of pro-impeachment rallies and events are planned Tuesday across the country, including one outside Bucks County Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick's office.

The rally will begin at 5:30 at 1717 Newtown-Langhorne Road. Nearly 900 people have RSVP'ed online to attend the event, according to www.impeach.org.

Last week, two articles of impeachment against President Donald J. Trump were approved by a House panel.

Fitzpatrick, in a statement issued Tuesday, confirmed he would be voting against impeachment. He said it is a "rushed" and "poisoned" impeachment inquiry that "broke with long-standing historical precedent in our nation."

Fitzpatrick has previously stated publicly he was against impeachment, telling WHYY the impeachment process should be based on an independent and nonpartisan law enforcement investigation.

The articles accuse the president of abuse of power linked to the Ukraine scandal and obstruction of Congress, alleging that Trump "has directed the unprecedented, categorical, and indiscriminate defiance of subpoenas issued by the House of Representatives pursuant to its 'sole Power of Impeachment.'"
