Saturday Is Shaping Up To Be A Busy Day In Newtown

NEWTOWN, PA — From an outdoor yoga session to a fall festival, Saturday is shaping up to be a busy day in Newtown.

The day begins with a fundraising yoga session at the Wrightstown Farmers Market and continues with a car wash at BC Discoveries Dance and Theatre Company on South State Street.

Capping off the day will be a "Hope Through the Storm" pig roast at the Newtown United Methodist Church and a Fall Festival hosted by the Newtown Borough Recreation Board.

Yoga at the Wrightstown Farmer's Market

Yoga At The Market will be bringing its poses, stretches and deep breathing exercises back to the Wrightstown Farmers Market on Saturday, Sept. 13 as a fundraiser for A Love For Life. For the second year, Elle Kaplan of True Yoga will be hosting the donation-based yoga class, a collaboration between the Wrightstown Farmers Market and the Newtown-based pancreatic cancer research charity, A Love For Life. Car Wash For BC Discoveries

BC Discoveries Dance & Theatre Arts Company stages a car wash on Saturday, Sept. 13 from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. at 452 South State Street in Newtown. The car wash is free, but donations are encouraged in support of the dance and theatre arts company.

“Hope After the Storm” Pig Roast

A "Hope After The Storm" Pig Roast takes place on Saturday, September 13 from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Newtown United Methodist Church (parking lot). The annual Pig Roast, hosted by the United Methodist Men, will feature a BBQ dinner, hot dogs, games like cornhole and lawn activities, a bounce house, face painting, and music from Forst One Entertainment, the live DJ for the day. The event is free, but donations will be accepted to help the survivors of the Texas flood. Gifts will support relief efforts through UMCOR, the disaster relief agency of the United Methodist Church, ensuring that every contribution is used wisely and effectively.

Newtown Borough Fall Festival

Newtown Borough presents its second annual Fall Festival on Saturday, Sept. 13, from 4 to 9 p.m. at Linton Memorial Park, 108 South Lincoln Avenue. The event will feature music, food trucks (Joes Crafted Cravings and Goodnoe Ice Cream), Second Sin Brewing, and fun and games for the kids.
