The high-energy, family-friendly event mixing the excitement of live wrestling with the impact of community-driven advocacy, will raise funds for the Bucks County Suicide Prevention Task Force including local mental health programs, education and support for suicide loss survivors.

The task force strives toward its goal to end suicide through advocacy, education, prevention, intervention, and postvention efforts. The team is made up of professionals and community volunteers who support all individuals in Bucks County using various initiatives, events, and programs.

The task force has led and contributed efforts in educating the public and mental health providers, reducing the stigmatization around suicide and mental health, encouraging individuals to seek help while informing others how to help those who are in need, and improving access to services and resources to prevent suicides and support those that are suicide loss survivors.

Last year’s 1st Annual Slam Down Show Down yielded a $12,000 donation to the Hebrew Association for the Deaf and more than 150 attendees. This year’s event is promising to be much larger with a significant donation for suicide prevention.

According to Randi Casey, an owner at Goldsteins’ and funeral director, “Light the Way was created to give back to the community in which we live and operate. We have done many projects, such as backpack with school supplied give-aways, Halloween Trunk or Treats, Coat Drives, and we collected more than 1,000 pounds of food for Preston and Steve’s Camp out for Hunger in 2024. We are committed to help local organizations achieve their goals and have an even greater impact on their community.”

Tom Roskowski, a Tri-Chair of the Bucks County Suicide Prevention Task Force added, “We are excited to be a part of this truly unique fundraising event. The funds raised allow us to continue to support the Bucks County community with resources, programs, education, and bereavement assistance for survivors of suicide. Unfortunately, Bucks County saw an increase is suicides last year, which tells us that we need to provide more information to the community and work to destigmatize mental health.”

Tickets are $35 for first row, $25 for second row and $20 for general admission, which can be purchased at the door or on the Goldsteins’ Rosenberg’s Funeral Directors website by clicking here.
