Suspected Narcotics Seized During Traffic Stops In Newtown Twp.

Police also took one driver into custody on an active arrest warrant from the Pennsylvania State Police.

NEWTOWN TOWNSHIP, PA — The Newtown Township Police Department reported the following incidents and arrests between March 28 and April 3:

March 28

  • At approximately 1:45 a.m. police conducted a traffic stop on the driver of a Lexus sedan for committing a vehicle code violation in the area of Whisper Wood Court and Jericho Valley Drive. As a result of the investigation, suspected narcotics and drug paraphernalia were discovered and seized as evidence. Charges are pending.

  • At approximately 3:30 p.m. police conducted a traffic stop on the driver of a Jeep Grand Cherokee for committing a vehicle code violation in the area of Worthington Mill Road in Wrightstown Township. As a result of the investigation, the driver was taken into custody on an active arrest warrant from the Pennsylvania State Police and transferred without incident.

April 2

  • At approximately 1:45 a.m. police conducted a traffic stop on the driver of a Chevrolet Traverse for committing a vehicle code violation in the area of the Newtown Bypass and Newtown-Langhorne Road. As a result of the investigation, suspected narcotics and drug paraphernalia were discovered and seized as evidence. Charges are pending for both the driver and the passenger.

  • At approximately 4:30 pm police were dispatched to the TD Bank on West Road for the report of a man fraudulently trying to obtain funds with a fake ID. An investigation is ongoing.
