Tree Trimming To Begin Next Week In Newtown Borough

Asplundh has been retained by PECO to conduct spring tree trimming and branch removal to improve electric reliability in the borough.

NEWTOWN BOROUGH, PA — Crews from Asplundh will be in Newtown Borough beginning next week to perform extensive tree trimming and branch removal.

PECO has contracted with Asplundh to perform vegetation management on its electric distribution system to improve electric reliability.

According to Newtown Borough, Asplundh will be contacting customers where and when work is being performed with work continuing throughout the spring.

Large trees and branches can cause extended power outages when they come in contact with overhead power lines. As part of PECO's extensive maintenance program, crews are hired to keep lines clear for distribution and transmission rights-of-way.
