$575K Grant To Enhance Streetscape In Historic Washington Crossing

The township will use the funding to make improvements along George Washington Memorial Boulevard (Route 532).

UPPER MAKEFIELD, PA —Upper Makefield has been awarded a $575,000 grant for streetscape improvements along Route 532 in the village of Washington Crossing.

The funding, announced by State Senator Steve Santarsiero and State Rep. Perry Warren, is awarded through the Commonwealth’s Multimodal Transportation Fund and administered by the state Department of Community and Economic Development.

Upper Makefield will use the funding to make improvements to the streetscape along George Washington Memorial Boulevard (Route 532) - one of the main thoroughfares through the village of Washington Crossing.

“Upper Makefield, as home to Washington Crossing Historic Park, will play a critical role in our region’s celebration of America’s 250th anniversary in 2026,” said Santarsiero. “These improvements will enhance a key roadway around the park, benefiting both residents and tourists.”

“This state grant program will improve and beautify the historic and downtown area of Washington Crossing and support tourism and the local economy,” added State Rep. Perry Warren.

The Multimodal Transportation Fund provides grants to encourage economic development and ensure that a safe and reliable system of transportation is available to the residents of the Commonwealth.
