6 Injured In Motorcycle Gang Shootout In West Norriton: Police

Police said they do not believe there is a threat to the public at this time.

WEST NORRITON, PA — Two rival motorcycle gangs opened fired on each other in Montgomery County Friday night, injuring at least six people, authorities said, and terrifying the nearby community.

The incident occurred at around 9:11 p.m. at the Wawa on West Main Street.

All six of the injured individuals were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. Their conditions are unclear.

Police did not elaborate on what started the shootout, nor did they disclose the names of the gangs involved.

"At this time, the incident appears to be isolated and there is no ongoing threat to the public," West Norriton Township said in a statement.

Residents are asked to avoid the area of the Wawa where the shooting took place.

West Norton Police and the Montgomery County Detective Bureau are continuing to investigate the incident.
