Collegeville Homeowner Injured after Deck Collapse

According to Lower Providence Police chief Francis Carroll, a residential deck collapsed on Overlook Circle in Collegeville on Sunday, Sept. 9.

The incident occurred approximately 2:35 p.m. when the 51-year-old homeowner stepped onto the deck after opening the deck's sliding glass door. According to Carroll, the homeowner sustained injuries on the left ankle and arm, and added that the injuries were not reported as severe.

Lower Providence Volunteer Fire Fighters and township paramedics were at the scene, although it is not confirmed if the homeowner was taken to a hospital for the injuries. No other persons were reported injured in the collapse.

Lower Providence Township Code Enforcement is currently investigating the deck collapse.
