Montgomery County Holds Pride Flag Raising At Courthouse Complex
Officials attended a raising of the Pride Flag during a program at the Montgomery County courthouse complex Thursday afternoon.
NORRISTOWN, PA — Montgomery County officials were on hand Thursday afternoon for a raising of the pride flag, the event coinciding with Pride Month, a celebration of the LGBTQ+ community.
Participating speakers including Montgomery County Commissioners Val Arkoosh and Ken Lawrence; Brittany Kohler, president of the Montgomery County LGBT Business Council; and Valentina Dejesus-Rosario, a representative with Galaei, a social justice organization.
Those who did the flag raising at the courthouse complex were Lori Schrieber, who serves as the Montgomery County Clerk of Courts, and Alex Myers, a member of the Hatboro Borough Council who is also a transgender advocate.

Video from the event shared by WFMZ Channel 69 news also showed other local officials attending the event, including State Rep. Joe Webster, a Montgomery County Democrat, and John Spiegelman, a member of the Abington Township Board of Commissioners.
The Channel 69 news story said that the progress pride flag is also flying at some other government buildings in the region.

Patch has reported recently that pride flag raising ceremonies were held in areas like Conshohocken Borough and Royersford Borough, both municipalities in Montgomery County.
Similar events also took place in neighboring Bucks County.
Other Patch sites across the country have also reported pride flag raisings in other parts of the U.S.
The flag raising ceremonies have coincided with June 1 being the start of Pride Month, a celebration of the LGBTQ+ community.
