MONTGOMERY COUNTY, PA — Former Pennsylvania Attorney General Kathleen Kane is back in jail after reportedly violating her probation following her recent charge of driving under the influence.

A Montgomery County judge issued the warrant, YourErie.com reported Thursday. Kane could potentially finish her sentence for her prior conviction on perjury and official oppression charges.

Kane arrived at Montgomery County Correctional Facility on Friday morning, NBC Philadelphia reports.

Montgomery County Communications Director Kelly Cofrancisco independently confirmed to Patch that Kane was in the custody of the Montgomery County Correctional Facility as of Friday after she turned herself in on the bench warrant that had been issued by the judge in the case.

Kane, 55, was arrested and charged with DUI following a car crash in Scranton in late March. No one was injured in the two-vehicle crash.

Kane, once a rising star in Pennsylvania Democratic politics, was convicted in 2016 of leaking secret grand jury information to the news media in order to get back at a political rival and then lying about her actions under oath.
