Montgomery County Offers Hazardous Waste Recycling Dates Starting Saturday

The county will offer hazardous waste recycling events beginning this Saturday in Gilbertsville. Other events will follow across the county.

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, PA — Officials have announced the start of an ongoing hazardous waste event for residents across the county beginning this coming Saturday.

The household hazardous waste collection program will kick off on Saturday at the Boyertown Middle School East, 2020 Big Road, in Gilbertsville.

The events are by appointment only and preregistration will be required for those looking to participate.

During the collections, residents can bring certain items such as those that are toxic, corrosive, flammable and reactive, however, electronics such as televisions and appliances will not be accepted.

A full list of acceptable items can be found here, and include, but are not limited to, things like gasoline, batteries, automotive products, antifreeze, rodent poison and much more.

County officials said that those who reside in Montgomery County can also attend any household hazardous waste event held in Bucks, Chester, Delaware or Philadelphia Counties.

Additional events will be held on the following dates at the following locations:

  • May 21 at Temple University's Ambler Campus, 1431 Butler Pike, Ambler
  • Norristown Area High School, 1900 Eagle Drive, Norristown
  • Abington Junior High School, 2056 Susquehanna Road, Abington
  • Spring-Ford 9th Grade Center, 400 South Lewis Road, Royersford
  • Lower Merion Transfer Station, 1300 North Woodbine Avenue, Penn Valley
