Norristown Woman Pleads Guilty to Simple Assault with 2x4

Linda Waters struck daughter with 2x4 wooden axe handle several times.

According to a report in the Times Herald, Linda Waters, 50, of Norristown, pled guilty today to simple assault charges after striking her daughter with a 2x4 piece of wood, later determined to be an axe handle.

Court reports show that Waters used the wood as a bat and struck her daughter several times during an argument at their home in the 700 block of Kohn Street. While proven guilty of simple assault, Waters was able to have charges of harassment and endangering the welfare of a child dropped.

Police reports indicate Waters' daughter suffered injuries to her head, neck and hands in the incident.
