14 Apply for Vacancy on North Allegheny School Board
A new board member will be selected Wednesday to replace Beth Ludwig, who resigned last month.
The North Allegheny School District Monday released the names of 14 residents who have applied for the vacancy on the North Allegheny School Board.
They are:

- R. Kevin Brown
- Robert Weiland
- Elliot Frank
- Keith Miller
- Tracy McDonough
- Karen Boujoukos
- Brigitte Savchik
- Alan Shuckrow
- Suzanne Bridges
- Timothy Herald
- Christopher Disque
- Bill Dougherty
- Patricia Bolster
Beth Ludwig, a member of the board since 2001, resigned last month.

Ludwig said the discourse over the proposed closing of Peebles Elementary School had become too intense.
The individual who is selected will serve on the board until the first Monday of December 2013, following the next municipal election.

The new board member will be selected by a public vote of the board following interviews at a public meeting on March 20, beginning at 7 p.m. in the board room of the district's central administration offices. The oath of office will be administered immediately following the vote of the board and acceptance of the candidate. The new board member will assume his/her duties immediately.
