Bike Parade, Pancake Breakfast Fundraiser Set in Bradford Woods

Bradford Woods Volunteer Fire Co. is holding a fundraiser to help Clay O'Connor, who suffered a brain injury during a skateboarding accident.

Bradford Woods Volunteer Fire Co. is holding an event Aug. 24 to help pay for expenses for Clay O'Connor, a former volunteer firefighter with the company, who suffered a traumatic brain injury while skateboarding this summer.

O'Connor, a 2009 North Allegheny Senior High School graduate, was skateboarding near the Lehigh University campus in Bethlehem, PA in June when the accident happened, according to the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review.

The event starts at 9 a.m. with a half-mile bike parade through Bradford Woods that includes a best-decorated-bike contest. All participants must wear helmets.

After the parade, firefighters will serve pancake and sausages until 11 a.m. Donations will be collected.
