Bradford Woods Warns Against the High Cost of False Burglar Alarms
Homeowners could face fees in the hundreds of dollars.

The following information is posted on the Bradford Woods Website:
Maintain your Security System - Many residents in Bradford Woods have purchased security systems otherwise known as burglar alarms in order to secure their property.
What residents do not realize is that if these systems fail and create false alarms in which the police must investigate, they can be charged a false alarm fee. This fee is $50 for the first false alarm and escalates for each subsequent false alarm.

A multiple failure can result in a cost to the homeowner of as much as $275!. The ordinance permits our Fire Company to make the same charges although the Fire Company has never done so.
Neither the police nor the fire company want to make these charges. The first false alarm charge can be avoided with the purchase of a maintenance agreement and an annual check of the system to prevent further failures.

Please keep these facts in mind when you have these systems installed.
