North Allegheny Defeats La Salle to Win State Hockey Championship
La Salle had been defending state champion.
North Allegheny now holds state titles in hockey and football for the 2012-2013 school year. The Tigers defeated La Salle at the Ice Works arena in Ashton, PA Saturday afternoon.
The Tiger's Joseph Griffin recorded a natural hat trick in the second period, to erase a 2-0 deficit.

Dominic Zangaro scored for the Tigers in the third period. Then Griffen and Matthew Fantaski scored empty-net goals to finish off La Salle 6-2.
The win gives North Allegheny it's first Class AAA state championship since 2007.
