One Man Dead, Another Injured In Franklin Park Crash

The accident occurred Wednesday night, police said.

FRANKLIN PARK, PA — An 18-year-old man died and another 18-year-old was injured in a crash on I-79. The accident happened shortly after 10 p.m. in the northbound lanes.

Pennsylvania State police said the vehicle hydroplaned after hitting water on the road and hit a guard rail. The driver, Luke Cooper of Crescent Township, died after being thrown from the vehicle.

The passenger was taken to the hospital but suffered only a minor injury, police said.
