Too Cool For The Pool?
Lately, the water temperature has been warmer than the air temperature at North Park Pool.
The recent cool weather has put a chill on business at North Park pool.
The water temperature Monday afternoon was 76-degrees, four degrees warmer than the air temperature.
"Thats been happening a lot lately," said one of the gate attendants. "It's been pretty slow here."
Monday afternoon, less than a half dozen people were in the water.Â
"Unless you're swimming laps that water can feel pretty chilly," said another pool staff member.Â
About North Park Pool
North Park's swimming pool was built in the 1930's and holds 2 & 1/2 million gallons of water (compared to say 20-30,000 gallons in a modern city pool), according to the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh.Â
