Video: Vincentian Academy Student Creates Smartphone App
The invention earned her $8,200 and a trip to Italy.
Natalie Nash, from Vincentian Academy in McCandless, talks to ImaginePittsburghNow.com about the smartphone app she developed to assist visually impaired people with mobility.
At the 2012 Intel ISEF competion, her work garnered a Third Place Grand Award of $1,000 in Computer Science, a $200 for Fourth Place from Association for Computing Machinery, a $2,000 Third Place from engineering firm Ansaldo and $5,000 Award to travel to Trento, Italy to participate in "Web Valley" summer school.
