Drowning Children Saved, 4-Car Accidents: Northampton Twp. Police Log

NORTHAMPTON TOWNSHIP, PA — The Northampton Township Police Department reported several crimes that occurred in the area between May 30 and June 5.

May 30

- Police conducted traffic control at Dembowski Park for the annual Memorial Day Service.
May 31
- Police responded to East Holland Road at Bridgetown Pike for a report of two-vehicle accident; one driver was driving on Bridgetown Pike and, while attempting to turn onto East Holland Road, struck another driver in the rear. No injuries were reported, but the striking driver's car was towed from the scene.
- Police observed drug paraphernalia on a the driver's person during a traffic stop. The driver consented to a search of the vehicle, where drugs were found both in the vehicle and on the passenger. He was arrested at the scene; charges are pending.
- A two-vehicle accident was reported on Upper Holland Road; one driver struck another driver while attempting to turn left onto Upper Holland. Minor damage was reported on both vehicles, but no injuries were reported.
- Police responded to Newtown-Richboro Road and Holland Road for a four-vehicle accident; the first driver failed to stop for traffic which had stopped for a red light, striking the second driver, who then struck the third driver, who then struck the fourth driver. No injuries were reported and only the first driver 's car was towed from the scene.
June 1

- Police responded to a two-vehicle accident in the parking lot at 99 Buck Road; one drive hit another driver while backing up. No injuries were reporter and neither vehicle needed to be towed.
- A report of a speeding vehicle was made from Brookside Drive. The complainant told police that a vehicle had been speeding and driving erratic on Brookside Drive three to dour times that day and they were concerned for neighborhood children.
- A traffic accident was reported from West Bristol Road; one driver was stopped behind another driver for a red traffic signal when their foot slipped off the brake and they struck the other driver. The struck driver was transported to Doylestown Hospital for evaluation.
- Police responded to Middle Holland Road at Old Jordan Road for a report of two vehicle accident with injuries; one driver attempted to cross the intersection from Old Jordan Road when it struck another driver, who was traveling on Middle Holland Road. Both operators were transported to St. Mary Medical Center for evaluation and both vehicles were towed from the scene.
June 2
- Police responded to Rock Way for a report of a hit and run; one driver was parked waiting to pick someone up when it was struck by another driver. The striking driver left the scene of the accident.
- Police responded to Pulinski Road for a complaint of solicitors in the area for carpenter bees. The complainant states that they answered the door through a camera and the unknown subject was persistent indicting they were doing work for neighbors.
- Police responded to Bustleton Pike for a report of a one-vehicle accident; the driver reports that they were stopped for traffic when a large tree branch fell into the travel lane and struck their car, causing multiple scratches and dents.
- Police responded to Almshouse Road for a two-vehicle accident.; one driver was stopped for traffic for a red light when it was struck in the rear by another driver who had failed to stop.
June 3
- Police responded to a four-vehicle accident at Buck and Rocksville Road; one driver was traveling on Rocksville Road when they stopped at the stop sign at Buck Road. They then proceeded through the stop sign where they struck another driver that was traveling on the same road. The struck driver rotated and crossed the center line where it struck a third driver, who in turn struck a foutrth driver. Three of the vehicles were towed from the scene and two of the drivers were transported to St. Mary Medical Center.
- Police responded to Richard Road in Ivyland for a report of a package theft. The complainant stated that a third-party deliverer delivered a package, took a picture of the delivered package and then took the package back. Surveillance footage confirms complainant’s information.
June 4
- Police responded to Rolling Hills Elementary for a report of juveniles on the roof. Two juveniles were observed on the roof of the school. Both climbed down and their parents were notified. Both were sent home as a result.
- A report of a drowning of a 6-year-old child was made from Kasi Circle. The child was found to be breathing and was transported to St. Mary Medical Center before being flown to CHOP by PennStar.
June 5
- Police responded to East Village Road for a drowning of a 5-year-old child. Upon arrival, the child was conscious and alert and being tended by EMS. The child was transported to St. Mary Medical Center.
