Multiple Deer Crashes Reported By Northampton Township Police

Police also make DUI arrest and investigated several roadway hazards, suspicious vehicles, and a criminal mischief call.

RICHBORO, PA — The Northampton Township Police Department reported the following incidents between Dec. 16 and Dec. 29:

December 16

  • Suspicious Vehicle - At 1:54 a.m., patrol observed an occupied vehicle on Frog Hollow Road. The individual was identified and through investigation, there did not appear to be any criminal activity afoot.

  • Suspicious Vehicle - At 1:34 a.m., patrol responded to a rear parking lot in the 900 block of 2nd Street Pike for a suspicious vehicle. Once on location, contact was made with the driver. It was found that they had stopped to rest. There were no issues observed.

December 18

  • Traffic Accident - Patrol responded to the 400 block of Worthington Mill Road for a traffic accident. Unit 1 was traveling southbound on Worthington Mill Road when it left the roadway and struck a tree/trash can. Tow was required.

  • Criminal Mischief - Patrol responded to a home on Mulberry Drive for the report of criminal mischief. The property owner reported that someone had thrown eggs at their home. Information was gathered.

December 20

  • Traffic Accident (deer involved) - Patrol responded to the 1200 block of Buck Road for the report of a traffic accident. Unit 1 was traveling southbound on Buck Road when a deer entered the roadway. As a result, contact was made. Tow was not required.

December 21

  • Road Hazard - Patrol responded to the 200 block of Stoneyford Road for the report of a tree blocking the roadway. Once on location, the tree was located and moved off from the road.

December 22

  • Traffic Accident (deer involved) - Patrol responded to Upper Holland Road for the report of a traffic accident. Unit 1 was traveling eastbound on Upper Holland Road when a deer ran onto the roadway and into the side of unit 1. Tow was not required.
  • Traffic Accident (deer involved) - Patrol responded to the 800 block of Sackettsford Road for the report of a traffic accident. Unit 1 was traveling eastbound on Sackettsford Road when multiple deer ran onto the roadway. As a result, contact was made. Tow was not required.

December 23

  • Traffic Accident - Patrol responded to the area of Buck Road and West Village Road for a traffic accident. Unit 2 was traveling westbound on East Village Road and was crossing over Buck Road when unit 1 turned in front of it. Unit 1 had been traveling eastbound on West Village Road and was making a left turn onto Buck Road. Tow was required.
  • Investigation of Open Doors - At 8:30 p.m., patrol found an open door to a business which was closed in the 900blk of 2nd Street Pike. Property was checked and the business was contacted to have the building secured.

December 24

  • Traffic Accident (deer involved) - Patrol responded to the area of East Bristol Road and Wordsworth Road for a traffic accident. Unit 1 was traveling westbound on East Bristol Road when a deer ran into the roadway. As a result, contact was made. Tow was not required.

December 25

  • Traffic Accident - Patrol responded to the area of Buck Road and Holland Road for a traffic accident. Unit 2 was traveling southbound on Buck Road toward Holland Road and was slowing down. While slowing down, they were struck from behind by unit 1 which was traveling the same direction. Tow was required.

December 26

  • Traffic Accident (deer involved) - Patrol responded to the 900 block of 2nd Street Pike for a traffic accident. Unit 1 was traveling in the 900 block of 2nd Street Pike when a deer ran into the roadway. As a result, contact was made. Tow was not required.

December 27

  • Road Hazard - Patrol observed a vehicle with its flashers on and made contact with the driver. It was found that driver had an issue with a strap which caused items of the vehicle to scatter on the road. Patrol assisted the driver with clearing the roadway.

December 28

  • Traffic Accident (DUI Arrest) - Patrol responded to the area of Holland Road and Vanderveer Avenue for a traffic accident. Once on location, contact was made with all parties involved. Through an investigation, one of the drivers involved was taken into custody for the suspicion of driving while under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.

December 29

  • Traffic Accident - Patrol responded to the area of 2nd Street Pike and Newtown-Richboro Road for a traffic accident. Unit 2 was traveling northbound on 2nd Street Pike when unit 1 entered the roadway from a parking lot. While unit 1 was entering onto the roadway, they made contact with unit 2. Tow was not required.

During this tour, patrol handled 40 alarm calls; 11 abandoned 911 calls; 80 medical emergencies; 21 bookings; 20 domestic disputes; 4 civil disputes; 110 traffic monitoring details and 27 crime prevention details.
