Northampton Library Gets $225K State Grant
The money will pay for repairs and upgrades at the library, on Upper Holland Road.
NORTHAMPTON, PA — The Free Library of Northampton Township will be getting some fixing up thanks to a state grant announced Friday.
State Rep. Wendi Thomas and Sen. Tommy Tomlinson announced the $225,000 Keystone Grant from the Pennsylvania Department of Education for the library, on Upper Holland Road in Richboro.
The money will be used to replace automatic entrance doors and carpeting, to repair cupola windows and the atrium, to upgrade electrical wiring and to replace three heating and air-conditioning units.

"This funding will help the library make needed repairs which will reduce local pressure to find the additional funds," Thomas said. "I am pleased we were able to convince the Department of Education that these funds were needed to maintain such an important asset to our community."
Added Tomlinson: "I want to thank the Department of Education for recognizing the importance of this project for our community."
Northampton Library was one of 19 public libraries in 12 counties to have been awarded $3.25 million in Keystone Grants from the Department of Education to use for improving facilities.
