Northampton Police Log: Fugitive Apprehended & More
Police responded to 14 alarms, 28 abandoned 911 calls, 30 medical calls, two domestic disputes, and 26 bookings between Aug. 2 and Aug. 8.
NORTHAMPTON, PA — Last week, the Northampton Township Police Department reported several car accidents, a theft, and a case of parking lot fireworks.

Monday, Aug. 2

- Police responded to Churchville Lane at Holland Road for a report of a two vehicle traffic accident with injuries. The first car entered the intersection causing a collision with the second car. Two occupants in the first car sustained minor injuries. Their car required a tow.
- Complainant said he permitted a friend to use his car, with the agreement that his friend would make payments to buy it. He said his friend has stopped returning phone calls and has not made any payments as of late. He requests the friend return the car, but is unable to get ahold of him.
- Complainant reported an unwanted intoxicated person standing in his driveway. Policee arrived on scene and advised the person that he was not permitted to return to the property. He was given a ride back to his residence.
Tuesday, Aug. 3
- Police responded to 2nd St. Pike at Bustleton Pike for a wellbeing check. A complainant reported that two people who appeared intoxicated were sitting in a vehicle. Police made contact with both people. After further investigation, the driver was taken into custody for drugs and being a fugitive of justice out of New Jersey. The passenger was also taken into custody for drugs.
- Police responded to Bustleton Pike at East Bristol Road for a report of a two=vehicle traffic accident. One car drove into the intersection, causing a collision with the second car. Both cars required a tow, and at least one person in the second car reported minor injuries.
- Police responded to the 900 block of 2nd St. Pike for a report of a traffic accident. One car turned left in front of the second car, causing a collision. There were no reported injuries and neither car required a tow.
Wednesday, Aug. 4

- Police responded to a local store for a report of theft. The complainant reported that someone entered the store, stole a promotional item and left the store. Police said the subject was described as "a light skin male with black hair wearing a blue t-shirt with tan shorts." The promotional item is valued around $1,000.
- Police responded to Newtown Richboro Road at Fir Drive for a report of a traffic accident. A deer ran into the car causing minor damage. There were no injuries reported.
- Police initiated a traffic stop at New Road and Bustleton Pike. After further investigation, the driver was taken into custody for possession of drugs and paraphernalia.
Thursday, Aug. 5
- Police responded to Newtown Richboro Road at Holland Road for a report of a car accident, when a deer ran into the car. There were no reported injuries, but the car needed a tow.
- Police responded to a local business for a report of a subject setting off fireworks in the parking lot. Upon arrival, they spoke with a group of young people who denied setting them off. Police spoke with an employee, who provided camera footage of the incident. About a half an hour later, police located the person who admitted to setting off the fireworks. The person was cited.
Friday, Aug. 6
- Police responded to the 900 block of 2nd St. Pike for a report of a two-vehicle traffic accident. One car struck another, which was legally parked. There were no reported injuries and minor damage.
- Police responded to Bridgetown Pike at Maple Avenue when a car struck a curb, causing the front wheel to rip away from the suspension. There were no reported injuries and the car required a tow.
Saturday, Aug. 7
- Police responded to the Weather Vane Business Center for a report of smoke coming from the ground. Northampton Fire Department arrived on the scene, observed a small mulch fire, and extinguished it.
- Police responded to Larch Drive for a report of a local ordinance violation. Property owners were advised they were not permitted to have an open burn of yard waste.
Sunday, Aug. 8
- Police responded to Bridgetown Pike at East Holland Road for a report of a two-vehicle traffic accident. One car turned left in front of the other, causing a collision. There were no reported injuries and minor damage to both vehicles.
- Police responded to the 1900 block of 2nd St. Pike for a report of a two-vehicle traffic accident. One car attempted to make a U-turn in the roadway and was struck by another car. People in both cars sustained non-life threatening injuries. Both required a tow.
