Traffic Accidents, Assault, And More: Northampton Police Log

A missing person was also reported, who was found near her home and taken back by police.

NORTHAMPTON, PA — The Northampton Township Police Department reported several incidents between Nov. 1 and Nov. 7. Read all the details here:

Monday, Nov. 1

  • Police arrived at Tanyard Road at 2nd Street Pike for a report of a two vehicle traffic accident. There were no reported injuries, but Unit #2 required a tow.
  • Police arrived at 2nd Street Pike at Bustleton Pike for a report of a two vehicle traffic accident. One car turned into another car, causing a collision. The driver of the struck vehicle sustained minor injuries and their car required a tow.

Tuesday, Nov. 2

  • Police arrived at Almshouse Road after a report of simple assault. The subject was taken into custody.

Wednesday, Nov. 3

  • Police arrived at 2nd Street Pike at Cherry Blossom DrI've after a report of a two car traffic accident; one car turned left into another. No injuries were reported, but one car required a tow.
  • Police arrived at the 400 block of Bustleton Pike after a report of another two car traffic accident; a car swiped another car while attempting to pass. No injuries were reported and a tow was not required for either vehicle.
  • A missing person was reported from a residence off of 2nd Street Pike. The man who reported it said his daughter, who suffered from a personality disorder, went missing. Police found her close to the home and brought her back.

Thursday, Nov. 4

  • Police arrived at Industrial Drive at Indian Drive for a report of a two vehicle traffic accident. One car side-swiped another while trying to pass in the left lane. No injuries were reported and neither vehicle required a tow.
  • Police arrived at Almshouse Road at Creekside Drive for a report of car hitting a deer. No injuries were reported, and not tow was required.

Friday, Nov. 5

  • A local business reported a retail theft. Police took into custody a subject who was wanted for another theft in a nearby jurisdiction.

Saturday, Nov. 6

  • Police took a subject into custody around 3 a.m. for drug and paraphernalia possession. The police spotted the subject in a suspicious vehicle parked in the ball park on Stoneyford Road.
  • A vehicle struck a deer on Holland Road at Rocksville Road. No injuries were reported and no tow was required.

Sunday, Nov. 7

  • Police arrived at a residence for a report of an aggravated assault. A subject was taken into custody.
  • Police arrived at a residence for a report of a fraud. Complainant stated she sent a check through the mail to pay a bill. Her bank statement showed the check had been altered for a much higher amount. The complainant contacted the person she sent the check and the person stated they never received the payment. Investigation is still on going.
  • Police initiated a traffic stop in the area of Newtown Richboro Road at Fir Drive for an inspection violation. After further investigation, the vehicle operator was taken into custody for possession of a controlled substance/paraphernalia.
  • Police arrived at a business for a report of a subject using counterfeit money. The owner reports a customer paid for his food using a counterfeit $100. He did not realize it until the customer left.
