Vehicle Stolen, Burglary Reported: Northampton Twp. Police Report
Police also investigated fraudulent activity involving bitcoin and a call from someone claiming to be from the sheriff's department.
RICHBORO, PA — The Northampton Township Police Department reported the following incidents and arrests between Dec. 9 and 15:
December 9
- Warrant Arrest - Patrol made spoke with an individual in the area of West Buttonwood Drive who had an active arrest warrant and fled from police. The area was searched and the individual was located on New Road. They were taken into custody.

- Scam - A complainant reports that they received an email from an unknown person. The email contained their name, address and other personal information. The sender requested payment in bitcoin, or they would release the complainant’s information and search history online. Complainant did not send any payment and information was gathered.
December 11
- Accident - Patrol responded to the 800blk of East Bristol Road for a traffic accident. Unit 2 had stopped to make a delivery when unit 1 went to go around. While unit 1 was going around, it had made contact with unit 2. Tow was not required.
December 12

- Traffic Accident - Patrol responded to the area of West Bristol Road and Hatboro Road for a traffic accident. Unit 2 was stopped on West Bristol Road at Hatboro in traffic. While stopped, they were struck from behind by unit 1. Tow was required.
- Burglary - Patrol responded to a home in the Richboro section of Northampton for the report of a burglary. Contact was made with the homeowners who reported that an unknown individual(s) entered their home. Information was gathered and this case is assigned to Detectives.
December 13
- Fraud - A complainant reports that they were contacted by someone claiming to be from the Sheriff's Department. This individual told the complainant that there was a warrant for their arrest for missed jury duty. During this interaction, the complainant hung up the phone and contacted police to verify that the phone call was a scam. It was and information was gathered.
December 14
- Motor Vehicle Theft - Patrol responded to a home in the Richboro section of Northampton for a motor vehicle theft. Once on location, contact was made with the complainant who reported that their vehicle was stolen. Information was gathered and this case is assigned to Detectives.
December 15
- Suspicious Vehicle - Patrol responded to Dartmouth Lane for a suspicious vehicle. Once on location, contact was made with the occupants and everything checked out.
During this tour, patrol handled 15 alarm calls, 17 abandoned 911 calls; 36 medical emergencies; 9 bookings; 2 domestic disputes; 7 civil disputes; 78 traffic monitoring details; and 10 crime prevention detail.
