Voters Split Their Tickets In Northampton Twp. Supervisors Race
A Republican and a Democrat elected to two open seats on the township's board of supervisors.

NORTHAMPTON TOWNSHIP, PA — Voters on Tuesday split their tickets, picking incumbent Democrat Barry Moore and Republican Joseph Lombardo for two six-year seats on the board of supervisors.
Moore, the owner of a clean energy company, has served on the board since 2013 and was running for re-election with Democrat Ed Mayer.
Lombardo has lived in the Holland section of the township for 36 years. He is affectionately known around the township as "Joe the Ref," for his volunteer work as a basketball referee.

While voters gave their thumbs up to Moore and Lombardo, they ousted Republican supervisor and Northampton Township Fire Chief Adam Selisker, who has served consecutive terms as the chairman of the board of supervisors.
Moore was the highest vote-getter with 7,678 votes, followed by Lombardo with 7,548 votes.

Democrat Ed Mayer, who ran with Moore, came in third with 7,244 votes, while Selisker, who ran with Lombardo, tallied 7,138 votes.
With the election of Moore and Lombardo, Republicans will retain majority control of the board with three Republicans - Robert Salzer, Paula Gasper and Joe Lombardo - and two Democrats - Barry Moore and Dr. Kimberly Rose.
