Fearless 5K Volunteers Needed on Race Day

Volunteers are needed to help with a Memorial Run/Walk July 2 at North Park in honor of Marine Sgt. Joseph D. Caskey, who was killed in action June 26, 2010.

Course Set-Up:

Volunteers will arrive by 6 a.m. at the Boat House to set up course signs, hydration station and mile markers. Volunteers also will set up the Same-Day Registrations tables, Packet Pick-Up tables and Post-Race Refreshment tables.

Parking Directors:

Volunteers will arrive by 6:15 a.m. at the Boat House to direct drivers to parking.

Packet Pick-Up:

Volunteers will arrive at the Boat House by 6:30 AM to manage the Packet Pick-Up tables and will hand out pre-organized packets to any pre-registrant who has not already picked up their packet.

Same-Day Registration:

Volunteers will arrive by 6:30 a.m. at the Boat House to manage the Same-Day Registration tables.

Hydration Station:

Volunteers will arrive no later than 8 a.m. at the Boat House and report to Hydration Station at the turn-around mark on the course. Volunteers will pass out water to runners/walkers as they pass by.

Post-Race Refreshments:

Volunteers will arrive no later than 8 a.m. at the Boat House and will arrange food and drinks on the Post-Race Refreshment Tables and will hand out food and drinks to runners/walkers after they finish the race.

Finish Line Directors:

Volunteers will arrive no later than 8 a.m. at the Boat House and will assist in any race-day tasks that need to be completed until the race begins. Volunteers will then manage the finish line area to keep it clear of observers while runners/walkers begin to cross the finish line. Volunteers also will direct race participants to the Post-Race Refreshment table.

Course Clean-Up:

Volunteers will arrive by 8 a.m. at the Boat House and will assist in any race-day tasks that need to be completed until the race begins. Volunteers will operate a system to clean up any debris left on the course. Volunteers also will take down the Same-Day Registrations tables, Packet Pick-Up tables, Hydration Station and Post-Race Refreshment tables.
