Opportunities Available to Help the Visually Impaired

The Friendship Group needs help with transportation and program assistance. Volunteer opportunities include serving refreshments, visiting with members during the programs or teaching knitting and crocheting. The group also needs help with telephoning or administrative jobs that can be done from home.

The organization is a free recreational, support and learning group for blind or visually impaired adults. It provides individuals the opportunity to get together with others who have faced similar obstacles. The group also offers visually impaired individuals the opportunity to enjoy life fuller through various activities that do not require sight and often results in a more positive outlook on life through exposure to others who are further along on their journey of adjusting to blindness or visual impairment.

The Friendship Group is run entirely through volunteer efforts. No experience working with the blind is necessary.
