Community Mourns 2 Teens Killed In Pittsburgh-Area Crash
The early-morning crash claimed the lives of an 18-year-old girl, a 14-year-old boy, and injured others.

MCCANDLESS, PA — Community members and classmates are mourning two teens killed in a car crash in McCandless over the weekend, and online fundraisers have raised thousands of dollars in their memories.
Ambridge High School student Taylor Orlowski, 18, and 14-year-old Jonathan Tourney, a freshman at Pine-Richland High School, died after the SUV they were in crashed into a tree Saturday morning, said county police.
Officials said that six people were inside the SUV, which "was traveling at a high rate of speed" on Irwin Road when the driver, an 18-year-old male, lost control of the vehicle. The single-vehicle crash took place near Babcock Boulevard at around 3:19 a.m. on Saturday, Allegheny County Police said.

Authorities said Orlowski was pronounced dead at the scene, and first responders transported Tourney via helicopter to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Two other passengers were taken to an area hospital and are listed in stable condition, officials said.

The Pine-Richland community held a candlelight vigil for Tourney, a football player, on Tuesday night according to media reports from WPXI and WTAE. Tourney had just lost his father seven months ago to a brain tumor, his neighbors wrote on a GoFundMe page to help his mother with funeral expenses. As of Wednesday at 1 p.m., people have donated more than $118,000 in his memory.

Orlowski was a highly-accomplished equestrian, as a tribute from the Houdini Farms equestrian center in Valencia stated. A GoFundMe in her honor will go towards a perpetual trophy within the Western Pennsylvania Professional Horseman’s Association for a junior rider. As of Wednesday at 1 p.m., this fundraiser has passed $16,800.
Allegheny County Police said the crash is still under investigation.
