Former Ross Commissioner Strengthens Congressional Bid
Former Ross Commissioner Jeremy Shaffer will be on the ballot in the May 17th primary.

ROSS TOWNSHIP, PA — Former township commissioner Jeremy Shaffer will be on the the May 17th primary ballot for the Republican nomination in the 17th congressional district. Shaffer announced Sunday he will turn in more than 2,700 petition signatures today to the Pennsylvania Department of State.
Shaffer is attempting to succeed U.S. Rep. Conor Lamb, a Democrat who is running to fill the United States Senate seat being vacated in December by the retiring Pat Toomey.
"It's been an absolute honor to earn the support of thousands of citizens across PA-17 who share our vision of bringing positive reform to D.C. that puts Western Pennsylvania families first," Shaffer said in a news release. "Our campaign will be incredibly well-funded and have a grassroots operations second-to-none, and we're looking forward to the election ahead."

Shaffer was a township commissioner for six years. He ran for the state senate in 2018, losing a close race to Democrat Lindsay Ward.
