George B. Basl, Jr.

George B. Basl, Jr., 78, of Shaler Township, formerly of Ross Township, died Sunday, July 24, 2011.

The son of the late George B. & Mary Louise (Dawson) Basl, he was born in Pittsburgh July 14, 1933. 

Surviving is his wife of 29 years Joyce (Farley) Basl. He is the father of Susan Basl of Butler and Jeff Basl of McCandless; step-father of Rick Grupp, Ron Grupp and Joyce Greiner; grandfather of Jordan Roycroft; step-grandfather of Amber and Cody Grupp, Brandon, Devon and Dakota Grupp and Nichole and Julia Greiner; cousin of Patti Kaczynski and Tom Kaczynski; friend of Mike and Denise.

The family will welcome friends 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday at the , Inc., 388 Center Ave., West View. Mass of Christian Burial will be held in at 10 a.m. Thursday. Interment will be in

Basl was a retired customer serviceman for Equitable Gas, Korean War Veteran, and member of . He loved his garden.
