George C. Zimmer

George C. Zimmer, 86, of Ross, died on Saturday, May 21, 2011.

He was the husband of the late Betty M. (Blaha) Zimmer, father of George E. (Colleen) Zimmer and grandfather of Jaden R. and Julia P.

The family welcomed friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday and from 1 to 3 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the , 388 Center Ave., West View 15229. A service was held Wednesday at the funeral home.

Zimmer was a member of McKinley Stuckrath Lodge No. 318 F.&A.M., the Syria Shriners, Scottish Rite Valley of Pittsburgh and the Royal Order of Jesters. He was a past monarch of Islam Grotto, a past president of NACO Caravan No. 19 and a past exalted ruler of Allegheny Elks Lodge No. 339. He also was a member of the Veterans Club of America No. 1,  American Legion Post No. 81 and Moose Lodge No. 609.

In lieu of flowers, family suggests donations to Shriners Hospitals for Children-Erie, 1645 W. Eighth St., Erie, PA 16505, or the American Cancer Society, 320 Bilmar Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15205.
