Get Out: Summerfest, Benefit Sales and Vendor Craft Fair

It’s Friday, and you're still trying to decide what to do for the weekend. You're in luck. North Hills Patch is here with a few ideas:

When/Where: Friday, Aug. 23 at California Pizza Kitchen, Ross Park Mall.

Why Go: Treasure House Fashions, the nonprofit women's resale shop with a tender heart, is celebrating 13 years. Put all the clothes you can in a brown grocery bag (which Giant Eagle donates) for $20!  STORE HOURS ARE: T 11-6  W 11-6  TH 11-8  F 11-4  SA 11-4.  

Admission: Free.

When/Where: 6 p.m. Friday, Aug. 23 and Saturday, Aug. 24 at 1000 Avila Court.

Why Go: Catch the weeklong family festival while there's still time. Enjoy nightly entertainment, a huge silent auction, petting zoo, games, rides, food and more. 

Admission: Free. Nightly dinners begin at 4:30 p.m.

 

North Hills Marching Band Vendor & Craft Fair

When/Where: 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, Aug. 23 at North Hills Junior High Gymnasium.

Why Go: Various vendors and crafters will be featured, and North Hills merchandise will be available. The event benefits instrumental music education at North Hills.

Admission: Free.

 

WearWoof's Western PA Humane Society Benefit Sale

When/Where: 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 24 at the WearWoof Shop, 1105 Rochester Road.

Why Go: WearWoof Shop is turning new and gently used better women's second-hand fashion into funding and support for local animal shelters and rescues. The Benefit Sale will feature fabulous deals with 20 percent of the proceeds of Saturday's sale going to the Western PA Humane Society.

Admission: Free

 

Pittsburgh's Hidden Treasures: An Antiques Appraisal Show

When/Where: 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, Aug.25 at Senator John Heinz History Center.   

Why Go: Nearly 40 appraisers, including experts from Christie's, the world's largest fine arts auction house, will assess the historical significance and monetary value of visitors’ items at the sixth annual event. 

Admission: free for History Center members and included with regular admission for non-members: $15 for adults, $13 for seniors (age 62+), $6 for students and children (age 6-17), and free for children (age 5 and under).
