Heat Advisory Issued for Pittsburgh Area

The combination of heat and humidity will make it feel as if it's close to 100-degrees this afternoon.

With the temperature expected to soar to 90 degrees today, the National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory for the Pittsburgh area, including Ross Township and West View.

The advisory will be in effect from noon to 6 p.m. Wednesday, the website indicates.

While the mercury might read 90 degrees, it will feel more like 100, the website indicates.

"The heat could make it dangerous to perform outdoor activities during the afternoon," the website said. "The heat could also be dangerous for those without air conditioning."
