Heavy Rains Swamp Parts of Ross Township

At one point, a portion of Perry Highway between West View Park Drive and Center Avenue was under water.

Editor's note: An earlier version of this story incorrectly stated that Rochester Road was four lanes wide, when it is, in fact, just two lanes.

It seems like the never-ending story.

Another late afternoon round of storms swamped parts of Ross and West View Monday.

The result? Downed trees and power lines and in some cases, flooded roads.

At one point, a portion of Perry Highway between West View Park Drive and Center Avenue was under water (video), something that, understandably, may have made officials nervous. A sinkhole in that exact same spot took more than three weeks to repair, but by Monday evening, the road was open in both directions.

Another busy stretch, Rochester Road, was closed for a short while by a large tree which fell across both lanes near the Ross/McCandless border.
