Tom Kelly is one of three incumbent members of the North Hills School Board seeking re-election. The following is his statement announcing his run for a third term:
I have been a Ross resident for over 35 years and during that time I have been involved in various aspects of Education.
I'm a former English teacher and administrator who left education to work in the technology field and I have some 25 years experience in sales and management with several Fortune 100 technology companies. Even then, my focus was in Educational Technology- working with K-12 schools and Higher Education.

I have been on the North Hills School Board for almost 8 years, serving as chairperson of several sub committees and as the current Vice President. My two adult children are also graduates of North Hills.
I also serve as a Board member and Vice president of the Allegheny Intermediate Unit and have been active in the Pa. School Board Association for many years.

I'm running again because I have worked with my fellow board members to move the district from a good system to a great system. Our students receive an excellent and well rounded education and the current board members and I have positioned the district extremely well for the future.
In the last few years, we have remodeled schools, hired great employees and provided excellent opportunities for our administrators to grow and excel as leaders; all the while mindful of our fiduciary responsibilities to serve students, the citizens of West View and Ross and spend tax money wisely.
My experience these past 8 years positions me to make certain our district continues that forward to greatness movement.
Being a school board member requires experience, time and dedication to oversee our mission of preparing students as future contributing citizens and leaders.
Since I am now retired, I have the time, desire and ability to again serve the students and taxpayers of West View and Ross.
Like Oscar Wilde, I too ..."have the simplest tastes. I am always satisfied with the best". The North Hills truly is one of America's great public school districts and an experienced, dedicated school board member like myself can make certain that continues.
