Jackie Evancho To Sing on Finale of 'America's Got Talent'

Local singing star Jackie Evancho will come full circle Wednesday when she performs on the season finale of America's Got Talent, the show that launched her career.

A year ago, the community gathered around TVs to watch the season finale of America's Got Talent to see if Jackie would win the contest that catapulted her to fame.

This year, instead of nervously awaiting the results of the contest, Jackie will perform Nessun Dorma on the finale as others wait to see their fate on the reality competition show that airs at 8 p.m. tonight on NBC.

Given the incredible success Jackie has had the past year, it is hard to believe that she did not win the America's Got Talent competition. She was the runner-up to winner Michael Grimm.

Here's what Jackie is up to these days:

• Her Dream With Me In Concert DVD and DVD/CD went on sale Tuesday for those who want a recording of her live performance that was broadcast this spring on PBS's Great Performances.
• Jackie's performance with the  at the Benedum Center on Oct. 16 is sold out.
• She is scheduled to perform in New York [on Nov. 7 at Avery Fisher Hallin Lincoln Center] and Las Vegas [on Dec. 29 at Mandalay Bay Events Center].
• Jackie also is working on a Christmas CD.
