John A. "Jack" Shields

John A. "Jack" Shields, 50, of West View, died Saturday, June 11, 2011. Born on August 6, 1960 in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late Robert G. and Helen M. (Stein) Shields.

He is survived by his wife, Kristie (Mellott); two sons, John M. Shields and James A. Shields; two stepchildren, Tracy L. Heineman and Robert P. Heineman; and two grandchildren, Anthony Faller and Nikolas Trautmann.

Other survivors include four brothers, Kenneth R. (Chris) Shields, David W. (Margaret) Shields, Michael (Dawn) Shields, and Raymond (Cheri) Shields; three sisters, Mary (Scott Liebold) Shields, Ginny (Joe) Profeta, and Diane Kress; and his faithful companion "Cain." He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

The family will welcome friends from 1 to 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at ., 388 Center Ave., West View. A blessing service will be held in the funeral home at 10 a.m. Wednesday.
