Look for Short-Term Lane Closures on Northbound I-79 Through Christmas Eve
Crews will work on the highway from the I-279 split to Cranberry interchange.

Work continues on northbound I-79 and that means short-term lane closures through this week from the I-279 split to the Cranberry interchange, according to PennDOT District 11.
Weather permitting, crews will install cable median guide rail from Exit 72 [I-279 split] to Exit 76.
Intermittent northbound left-lane closures will occur from 5 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday, Dec. 19-24, according to PennDOT.

The work is part of a $10 million project that includes improvements on several I-79 bridges. All ramps and exits will remain open at this time. The overall project is scheduled to be completed in early 2012.
The prime contractor for the project is Swank Associated Companies Inc. of New Kensington.
