Here's the scoop on a bridge repair project in Ross that has been triggering irritation for motorists.

ROSS TOWNSHIP, PA — Allegheny County's Department of Public Works announced Monday that the northbound lane of Thompson Run Road at Thompson Run North Side Bridge No. 2, located just north of Evergreen Road, has reopened to traffic.

The lane closure, which began on Oct. 27, was required for repairs to a bridge abutment.

Pugliano Construction Company of Plum was the prime construction contractor, and
the project was done as part of a $1.5 million contract that included work on three other bridges.

Thompson Run North Side Bridge No. 2 is used by an average of 16,520 vehicles daily. It has a condition rating of 4 (poor condition) on a 0-9 scale based on National Bridge Inspection Standards (NBIS) established by the Federal Highway Administration.
