More Traffic Restrictions Coming For Major Pittsburgh Road
Here's the latest on a major traffic project that has impacted thousands of Pittsburgh motorists.

ROSS TOWNSHIP, PA —As a major rehabilitation project nears its conclusion, lane restrictions once again are coming for McKnight Road.
PennDOT has announced single-lane restrictions will occur Sept. 15-19 from 8 p.m.-6 p.m. in the following locations:
- McKnight Road in each direction between Braunlich Drive and Nelson Run Road
- Babcock Boulevard in each direction between Cemetery Lane and Nelson Run Road
Flaggers will assist motorists through the Babcock Boulevard restrictions.

This $26.99 million McKnight Road improvement project began in February 2024 between Venture Street and Perrymont Road in Pittsburgh, and Ross and McCandless townships, including Babcock Boulevard/Evergreen Road.
Work includes bridge and culvert preservation, milling and paving, base repairs, drainage upgrades, pipe cleaning, guide rail, signal, and ADA ramp upgrades, waterline replacement, concrete mountable curb replacement and new signage and pavement markings.

Remaining work in the southbound direction includes drainage updates, milling and paving, and side road adjustments under a lane closure. Side road adjustments and ramp work will occur in the northbound direction.
Work is expected to conclude this summer.
