Thursday Night Movie in the Park Features Alice in Wonderland, Friday's Diary of a Wimpy Kid

One feature will be shown Thursday in Richland Township, the other Friday in Franklin Park.

The Movies in the Park Program, a joint program by the Townships of Ross, Marshall, Ohio & Richland and the Franklin Park Borough, is featuring Alice in Wonderland Thursday at dusk (around 9 p.m. or 9:30 p.m.) and Diary of a Wimpy Kid Friday at dusk. 

Alice in Wonderland will be shown in Richland Township at Veteran's Park at 145 East Pumping Station Road. Food and beverages will be available. In the event of rain, the movie will be canceled for the evening. 

The film features Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter

Diary of a Wimpy Kid will be shown at the Blueberry Hill Park Football Field in Franklin Park. Refreshments will be sold. 

The film is about a sixth-grade student who cracks jokes. It features Zachary GordonRobert Capron and Rachael Harris.

Allegheny County Classic Cinema Under the Stars will also be showing the classic Some Like It Hot at Deer Lakes Park in Carp Field Thursday at 9 p.m. 

The next feature to be shown in Ross Township will be Sept. 9. 

Funding for the Movies in the Park program is from a government grant awarded by the Pennsylvania Recreation and Parks Society
