New Tenant on Thompson Run Road Plans Pizza Shop

Local chain Adrian's Pizza plans to open a shop next month at 605 Thompson Run Road.

Adrian's Pizza, a local pizza chain, will open a second location in Ross Township next month along Thompson Run Road.

The family who runs the chain is in the process of signing a lease agreement for the 2,100-square-foot space left vacant by Deli 'N At at 605 Thompson Run Road, according to Frank Mazzotta, 51, the owner of the Gibsonia location and one of five siblings that each run independent franchises of the chain.

The Thompson Run Road location is in a shared retail plaza with and Female Physique's fitness and massage.

The five-year lease is expected to be final soon, Mazzotta said. The family is also in the process of obtaining the necessary permits through Ross Township.

"We're trying to get it up and running as fast as possible," he said.

The new Ross location will add a second to the area -- the first, at 7824 Perry Highway, is the original. It will replace a former Cranberry shop, which the family closed in May.

Mazzotta said his brother Denny will run the shop.

The Thompson Run Road location was chosen for its easy neighborhood access, he said.

Frank Mazzotta, along with his oldest brother, Adrian, and sister opened the first location on Perry Highway in 1976 when Adrian was 18 and Frank and his sister were still in high school.

The chain is known for its homemade dough, sausage and secret sauce recipe, which the Mazzottas' uncle first turned into a business.
