The ballfield, which is located off Ross Park Mall Drive at the northern end of the Ross Park Mall, is about 15 feet below the parking area, bleachers and concession stand — which is now used for storage. Scherling said the new structure will be more convenient for field maintenance, as well as provide needed extra seating for spectators.
"This will give them a different perspective, and bring them closer to the game," he said.

Scherling said the shed is expected to cost about $55,000, which the association is still collecting through fund-raising efforts. The association is about three-fourths of the way toward its goal, he said.
Construction will start Sept. 1 and is expected to take four to six weeks to finish, he said.
