North Hills High School Musicians Selected for All-State Band
The students will be part of what's considered the best high school concert band in the state.
North Hills High School junior trumpet player Stephen Knott and sophomore French horn player Alexa Galdes have been chosen to participate in the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association (PMEA) All-State Band next month.
Stephen and Alexa advanced to the state festival after successful auditions at the PMEA Regional Band Festival at Mercer High School on March 7 to 9. Students were judged on rhythm, musicianship and pitch accuracy among other factors.
The pair will attend the PMEA All-State Conference in Erie on April 17 to 20 where they will join with more than 120 other talented musicians to form the state’s best high school concert band.
