North Hills Parent, Grad, Volunteer Seeks Seat on School Board

Annette Giovengo Nolish has a background in higher education and business.

Annette Giovengo Nolish, a parent and graduate of the North Hills School District, is running for a seat on the North Hills school board.

"I’m running 'For Our Students' to help support our community with educational excellence and fiscal responsibility," she said.

As a current North Hills parent and active school district volunteer with a professional background in higher education and business, I will help support our students and our community with educational excellence and fiscal responsibility. 

I’m proud of our district and its national, state, and regional recognition for educational quality and student accomplishments in and out of the classroom. 

In order to continue our tradition of excellence in today's difficult economic climate for public education, North Hills must be fiscally responsible in meeting the challenges of decreased state funding, rising pension and health care costs, and changing state and federal policies.

  • Higher Education Administrator & Business Consultant
  • Carnegie Mellon University Ph.D., M.S., B.A. Applied History and Social Sciences
  • North Hills High School Graduate.

I understand our district and its constituencies – students, parents, teachers, staff, administration, board, alumni, and the community – and I will strengthen the partnerships that make us successful.  I understand education and business, know what colleges and employers expect from students, and am skilled in planning, budgeting, and financial analysis.

Nolish faces  

Three incumbents are also seeking reelection, Sharon Schrim, Kathy Reid, and Tom Kelly. Incumbent Tim Burnett's term expires at the end of the year, but he is not seeking reelection, according to North Hills Communications Coordinator Amada Hartle.
