North Hills School District Auctions Excess School Equipment
Teachers' desks, filing cabinets, library shelves and chairs are among the items listed in the online auction of elementary school furnishings.
The is liquidating its surplus furnishings and equipment through the use of an online auction.
Now through Nov. 3, the public has the opportunity to bid on more than 500 items. Bidding ends at 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 3. Beginning at 7 p.m., three items will end each minute.
Potential buyers have the opportunity to physically inspect items from noon to 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 2, at the former Seville Elementary School, 100 Enger Ave., in Ross Township.

Many of the surplus items, the result of school renovations and consolidation, include desks, tables, chairs, computers, pianos, band uniforms, table saws, gym equipment, cafeteria tables, food service equipment and audio-visual equipment.

The district replaced outdated and worn furniture and fixtures at McIntyre, , and Ross elementary schools after renovations and expansions in 2009 and 2010 and 2011.
Also being sold are items left after the closings of Northway Elementary in 2009 and Perrysville and Seville elementary schools in 2010.
The renovations and closings were part of a $51.7-million project to consolidate seven older buildings into four remodeled ones.
Successful bidders must pick up their items from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 7, at the former Seville Elementary School.
